Prodigal Sons is a rock band from Calgary, Alberta. Prodigal Sons is raw and free but also intentional and soulful. You will hear rock and pop sounds but you will also hear reggae, rap and some funk. You will also hear a clear and consistent message about hope, love and life.
The band consist of Luke Miles Saunders on guitar and vocals and David Espinel on drums and percussion. All of the members of the band have enjoyed various levels of success in other projects and came together out of a desire to make great music.
About Luke Miles Saunders:
A humble beginning in the small town of Glovertown Newfoundland is were Luke Saunders use to listen to his late father norm pick traditional music for him and his two brothers as they would fall asleep each night. it was in those moments he became inspired to play the guitar.
At age 15 his family moved West for his father's job in the oil patch and it was there Luke began to develop as an artist from busking at Eau Claire market to playing coffee shops he true identity as an artist began to emerge.
In 2006 he formed the vibe 98.5 star search 100000 dollar winning group satori life and release a debut album titled planet music after touring for 4 years and opening for bigger bands like lynard skynard cheap trick wide mouth Mason and others the band disolved in 2010.
Luke took a few years off and started a family and has now re emerged as a mature well rounded acoustic singer songwriter with an ability to engage a crowd with story and song.
About David Espinel:
A native of Quito, Ecuador David got his professional start at age 17 playing in various clubs and festivals. His band Fuera De Sitio was featured along with his song El Juego "The Game” on local radio stations.
David has performed and toured with many bands across Canada and parts of the United States including a gig at the world famous Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood in the summer of 2014, opening up for LA Guns.
